Peter John "Jack" Wagner, Jr. (born October 3, 1959 in Washington, Missouri) is an Emmy Award-nominated American actor.

Acting career

Wagner's most famous role has been Frisco Jones on the soap opera "General Hospital" (1983-1988, 1989-1991, 1994, 1995). He was half of a very popular supercouple with Kristina Wagner's Felicia and played the father of Georgie and Maxie Jones. He also played Warren Lockridge on "Santa Barbara" from 1991 to 1993.

He appeared for many years on the nighttime soap "Melrose Place" as Dr. Peter Burns (1994-1999), and directed episodes as well. Since early 2003 he has played Dominick Marone on the CBS daytime soap "The Bold and the Beautiful". He also appeared in the NBC TV series "Titans" with Yasmine Bleeth in 2000.

In 1985, Wagner was nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award for "Best Younger Actor" for his work on "General Hospital", but he lost to Brian Bloom from "As the World Turns". He was nominated again in 2005 for "Best Lead Actor" for "The Bold and the Beautiful", but lost to Christian LeBlanc from "The Young and the Restless".

Wagner has recorded five albums, and he had a Top 40 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 chart with the ballad "All I Need". The single reached #2 on the U.S. pop chart (and #1 on the adult contemporary chart) in early 1985.

Wagner's singing and guitar skills helped him win his breakthrough role as "Frisco Jones" on General Hospital. Auditioning for producer Gloria Monty, his audition included singing Kenny Loggins and James Taylor songs.Fact|date=October 2008 ABC musical honcho Kelli Ross hooked Wagner up with legendary producer Quincy Jones who oversaw his initial EP (then LP) "All I Need". Quincy Jones proteges Glen Ballard and Clif Magness produced Wagner's first two albums. Wagner's singing talents also won him the title role(s) in a Broadway run of "Jekyll & Hyde", making him the first celebrity casting. He also appeared in a national theatre tour in 1987 in the role of Tony in "West Side Story".

Personal life

He was married to actress Kristina Wagner, who played opposite him on "General Hospital" as his love interest Felicia Cummings. The couple was plagued by marital troubles; they filed for divorce twice, and this was finalized in 2006. Recently, he has been dating his "Melrose Place" love interest Heather Locklear.

Wagner is an avid golfer, having won the 2006 American Century Celebrity Golf Championship and is respected amongst his Hollywood peers for his golfing ability.

Miscellaneous

Wagner has hosted the Miss Universe Pageant twice: in Honolulu, Hawaii in 1998; and in Chaguaramas, Trinidad and Tobago in 1999.

He has appeared on celebrity editions of game shows such as "Wheel of Fortune". The money won during these appearances are generally donated to charitable organizations of the celebrity's choosing.
