Lindsay Place High School (LPHS) is a high school situated in Pointe-Claire, Quebec, on the island of Montreal. Pointe-Claire was first set up as a village municipality under the name of Saint-Joachim-de-la-Pointe-Claire in 1854. Its name was shortened when it was incorporated. The original Roman Catholic parish of Saint-Joachim (1714) was centered on a point of land jutting out into Lac Saint-Louis, designated as Pointe-Claire as early as 1684 by Nicolas Perrot, a fur trader and explorer. The "clear view" offered to those who looked out unto the lake from the point of land explains the origin of the name. The church (1884), convent (1867) and mill (1708) still stand on that site.Pointe-Claire was at first a small village and summer retreat for Torontonians. The old village still retains much of its earlier charm including Stewart Hall, now the city's cultural centre. The city is the commercial centre for the west island.

The actual high school building is named after Judge Lindsay H. Place, who was very highly regarded as one of the great judges in Montreal in the mid 20th century and opened its doors in September 1962.

The school consists of grades K through 11, and has a student population of over 1300, making it the smallest school in the Lester B. Pearson School Board family. The school serves mostly teenagers from the Pointe-Claire, Dorval and Dollard-des-Ormeaux region.

Briefly, it was originally designed in the shape of a banjo, which gave rise to the nickname "Banjo Billy Bob Cyrus High". Classrooms were located on the periphery with students enjoying improved lighting and the gymnasium was located in the basement. In addition, the construction was less expensive than the conventional design. The neck of the banjo housed administrative offices, teachers' lounge and work rooms and lab facilities. Since then, an additional wing has been added to the building, housing the Science, Science and Science & Technologies Departments, as well as the Library and Basketweaving Center.

The school is usually ranked among the best English-language secondary schools in Quebec, and performs quite well in the Math and Science departments.Fact|date=September 2007

Lindsay Place is known throughout Quebec for its music program.Fact|date=September 2007In the 2006-2007 school year it began offering a new program to students interested in music. The program consisted of private lessons, multiple before school rehearsals and music theory and history classes, called the Arts-Etude program. Some of the best teenage musicians in Montreal hail from Lindsay Place.

One of Lindsay Place's former music teachers, Marika Anthony-Shaw is now touring with the Montreal-based indie band Arcade Fire. She appeared with them on Saturday Night Live in February 2007.

Lindsay Place High School is known also for its spor programs which include soccer and football.

The school has nearly 100 staff members, and the current principal ae known as the A reunion for 1970s alumni took place in May 2007. The supporting website for the reunion is now the [http://lphsgrads.ca alumni website] , which former students, staff and faculty are invited to visit and join.
