The Tasmanian lanternshark, "Etmopterus tasmaniensis", is a shark of the family Dalatiidae found around Tasmania, at depths of between 920 and 1,010 m. Its length is up to 60 cm.

The rare Tasmanian lanternshark is almost unknown and may eventually be found to be identical to the New Zealand lanternshark, "Etmopterus baxteri". Reproduction is assumed to be ovoviviparous.
