James Wharton

James Wharton is a Conservative Party parliamentary candidate for Stockton South in the United Kingdom.

About James

James works for a North East region law firm, having graduated in Law from Durham University and completed the Legal Practice Course at the College of Law in York.

Before Durham he attended Yarm School, where he was involved with the school’s debating society. During his time at Yarm he was also an active member of the Army Cadets, which included taking part in the remembrance service parade that takes place in Yarm High Street each November, and which he still regularly attends. He carried his interest in the military through to his time at University and was actively involved in the Officers Training Corps, further fuelling his interest in defence and defence related issues.

Between autumn 2002 and early 2007 James was Chairman of the Stockton Conservative Party and during that time he was involved with a number of local issues, ranging from Dental Privatisations in Fairfield to recycling across the Borough and traffic and licensing issues in Yarm and Eaglescliffe.

Politically he believes in the value of individual freedoms and the need for sensible and controlled government. He believes that our public services must be properly funded and efficiently run and is he proud of our nation, its history and its diversity.

In the 2005 local elections James stood as the Conservative Candidate in Bishopsgarth and Elm Tree Ward in Stockton, as well as working to support Conservative Candidates across the Borough and playing a key role in the Campaign Team of James Gaddas, the 2005 Conservative Parliamentary Candidate for Stockton South.

James hopes to use his experience of local politics to campaign for a better deal for all residents in Stockton South.
