TA Associates is a private equity firm founded in 1968.

Capital under management is on the order of $12 billion in committed capital, including over $7 billion [ [http://www.ta.com/about/about.asp About TA] ] in actively investing funds. With more than 50 investment professionals in Boston, Menlo Park, and London, TA seeks to support growth, finance acquisitions, fund share repurchases and sponsor management buyouts. Since its founding in 1968, TA has been a lead investor and director in more than 400 companies. TA Associates is an established investor across technology, healthcare, financial and business services as well as consumer products.

The founders of the company were once part of the Tucker Anthony brokerage firm, thus the source for the TA name. Spin-offs from TA include Advent International, Summit Partners and Spectrum Equity.

TA is listed #39 among the 50 largest private equity firms globally.
