EM Data Bank

EM Data Bank

The [http://www.ebi.ac.uk/msd-srv/docs/emdb/ EM Data Bank] (EMDB) collects 3D EM maps and associated experimental data determined using electron microscopy of biolofical specimens. It was established in 2002 at the [http://www.ebi.ac.uk/msd/ MSD] group of the [http://www.ebi.ac.uk European Bioinformatics Institute (EBI)] , where the European site of the [http://www.wwpdb.org/ wwPDB] consortium is located.

It provides both the
* [http://www.ebi.ac.uk/msd-srv/emdep/ EMdep] deposition interface and the
* [http://www.ebi.ac.uk/msd-srv/emsearch/ EMsearch] search tool.

Under the [http://www.emdatabank.org NIH Unified Data Resource for CryoEM] , the [http://www.rcsb.org Research Collaboration for Structural Biology (RCSB)] also acts as a deposition, data processing and distribution center for EMDB data, while the [http://ncmi.bcm.tmc.edu/ncmi/ National Center for Macromolecular Imaging (NCMI)] is a collaborative partner in providing services and tools concerning the EMDB.

This site is only site that provides three-dimensional density maps for non-viruses (which is filled by the [http://mmtsb1.scripps.edu/emdb/ Viper EMDB] at Scripps).
