Wrong Road Again is a Country song written by songwriter Richard Leigh and was Crystal Gayle's first hit song. It was released in 1975.

In the mid 1970s, Country was making its move into Pop music. Country music was beginning to move into Pop music. Many of these artists include Lynn Anderson and Eddie Rabbitt. The song "Wrong Road Again" is a set example of this. Even though the song never crossed over into the Pop charts, the instruments used in the sessions were not instruments normally used in Country music. Crystal Gayle at the time, was working to set a name for herself in the music business. "Wrong Road Again" became of the songs to help jumpstart Gayle's long career in Country music. In 1975, the song became Gayle's first Country Top Ten single and showed what was to come from Gayle in the next couple of years. Eventually, Crystal Gayle would become of the best-selling artists in Country music and become, like her big sister Loretta Lynn, a product of her time. In 1976 came the release of Gayle's album "Somebody Loves You", which featured "Wrong Road Again", and a couple other of her big hits between 1975 and 1976.
