Dimensional Insight (DI) is a software company specializing in the development and marketing of business intelligence software. Their flagship product, The Diver Solution, delivers information in the form of reports, charts, and analytical applications.

Founded in 1989 by Frederick A. Powers and Stanley R. Zanarotti, DI serves more than 1,500 customers throughout the Americas, Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Middle East, and has an 18-year history of steady, uninterrupted growth and profitability[citation needed]. DI has subsidiaries in the People's Republic of China, Hong Kong, and the Netherlands, and over 50 partners and distributors around the world.

In 1993, DI was the first company to offer a Business Intelligence interface via a Web browser (Data Fountain, now called WebDiver). That year, it also announced CrossTarget, multidimensional data analysis and reporting software.[1]

In 2005, DI was awarded the U.S. Small Business Administration Massachusetts Small Business Exporter of the Year award. [1] [2]

In December 2009, DI was recognized as the Category Leader in Business Intelligence and Reporting in the 2009 Best in KLAS Software and Services Report (KLAS is an independent research firm that monitors vendor performance within the health care IT marketplace). [3]

In April 2010, DI was ranked as the #1 Business Intelligence Emerging Vendor in Howard Dresner's "Wisdom of Crowds" Business Intelligence Market Study. A close look at Dresner's report shows that, while DI received top ranking for the "Emerging Vendor" category, its scores also outperformed all other vendors (SAP/BO, IBM/Cognos, MicroStrategy, IBI, etc.) in the other categories ("Titan" and "Pure-Play BI") included in the report. This makes DI the best performing Business Intelligence vendor as rated by end-users in the study. [4]

In December 2010, DI's integrated business intelligence suite, The Diver Solution, was named Best in KLAS for Business Intelligence/Reporting in the 2010 Top 20 Best in KLAS Awards: Software & Professional Services. This was the second consecutive year that DI was named the leader in this market segment based on research by KLAS. [5]
