Mission statement

"Our Mission here at Humble High School is to engage students through a challenging,
supportive, caring, and collaborative learning environment that will ensure the
academic, social, and emotional growth necessary for our students
to be productive members of society."

Fight Song

The fight song for HHS is as follows:

Wildcats - W-I-L-D-C-A-T-S - we are the Wildcats.
We want the world to see another V-I-C-T-O-R-Y.
Victory is waiting for us, watching for us, we are the Wildcats.
Our boys are dressed in purple and white
And we are gonna win tonight. Fight!

Wildcat Alma Mater

In dear old Humble High School
Beneath the Texas sun,Where when our work is finished
Our time is spent in fun.
We love to work, we love to play;
Spending many a long, happy day.The faculty that aids us to reach a higher aim
Will share with us the glory of Humble's future fame.
We always like to strive and try
To keep our high school's ideals high.We strive together, work
and we help each other true;
In basketball and football,
In track and tennis, too.
We crown ourselves with glory bright
For the fame of the purple and white. And in those later days
When our lives have just begun
We will always remember
What our dear school has done.
We hate to think the time is nigh
When we part from dear old Humble High.

pecial Programs

Humble High School offers several foreign language courses including Spanish, French, Latin, and Sign Language.
Although German was offered in the past, after a decrease in the course's interest, the course was removed from the curriculum.
Currently only Spanish is offered in the IB level, and AP courses are taught in Spanish and French.

International Baccalaureate

The International Baccalaureate program was introduced to Humble High in the beginning of the 2007-2008 year, after interviewing applicants a year earlier. The 2009 class will be the first IB students to graduate from Humble High School with an IB diploma.
Here is a snapshot of the 2007-08 IB program at Humble High School:

*83 total students participating; 37 juniors in the full Diploma Program, (note: state average for full-Diploma students who participate in first year Diploma Program is 12); 21 10th grade students (4 pre-baccalaureate courses imbedded in their schedules), 25 ninth grade students (3 pre-baccalaureate courses imbedded in their schedules)
*20% of students, grades 9-11, are transfer students; 2 from KHS, 14 from AHS; largest number of transfers in ninth grade.
*Before school started, the IB staff hosted an IB Welcome Wagon for all incoming students, grades 9-11. The event gave the entire IB faculty a chance to work with the students outside of the classroom as well as help the students get to know one another. The students had an opportunity to tour the building and complete some service projects for the campus, one of which allowed the 11th graders to plant trees by the HHS baseball fields. In addition to this student event, the master schedule was able to accommodate the program's structure and the campus facilities are serving the staff and students well. Finally, the IB staff is working on building increased capacity for the program among their individual departments as well as seeking ways to expand the IB program and its philosophy beyond the IB classroom.
*The HHS IB program takes service learning and community service seriously, as it is one of the main tenets of the IB vision. This year, the HHS IB program will team with Humble High, Eagle Springs Elementary, and Kingwood Park High in an effort to raise awareness and increase participation in The Race for the Cure.
*15 HHS IB students will represent HHS at the state-wide CAS Conference in September. This event will be held at the Awty International School in September and will be followed by an international college fair for 10 and 11 grade IB students.
*Several of the IB students have elected to participate in an international summer travel experience during the summer of 2008. THese students will travel to Costa Rica for a 10 day experience that will allow them to practice their second language of study, participate in a Bio-Tour exploring the different climates found in Costa Rica, and spend a day at a Costa Rican day school where the students will bring donated school supplies and materials.
