The Battle of Saltankovka or Battle of Mogilev was a battle of the 1812 French invasion of Russia. The Russian forces were led by Pyotr Bagration and the French forces were led by Louis Nicolas Davout. The French army had 26,000 troops, while the Russian army had 49,000 troops. Bagration attacked Davout in a strong position. The Russians were defeated with a loss of about 4,000 soldiers. The French barely lost 1,000 soldiers.
