Tim Lovejoy

Timothy Paul Lovejoy (born 28 March, 1968) is a British television presenter, most famous for hosting Saturday morning football programme "Soccer AM" alongside Helen Chamberlain for over a decade.

Career

Tim Lovejoy joined Planet 24 working as a researcher for "The Big Breakfast" before going on to produce the show.

Richard Marson's book celebrating fifty years of Blue Peter comments that Lovejoy auditioned as a presenter in the 1990s.

After the success of Soccer AM, Lovejoy joined Xfm before moving to Virgin Radio where he briefly presented a Sunday afternoon show.

Lovejoy has also hosted "Tim Lovejoy and the Allstars", a show similar to "TFI Friday", on Sky One where he chatted with celebrities between performances from a variety of bands, from the Manic Street Preachers to Babyshambles.

In 2006, Lovejoy was the co-host of car show "Fifth Gear" on Five. However, his lack of knowledge on the subject made him unpopular with car enthusiasts [http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?p=1&f=23&t=326262&h=0] [http://www.thepetitionsite.com/takeaction/673823098?ltl=1165748268] and as a result has not appeared in any subsequent series.

Tim is now presenting a Sunday morning TV programme on BBC Two called "Something for the Weekend" which features cooking, clips from classic programmes, gadget round-ups and cocktail mixing.

Lovejoy announced on 5th June 2007 that he would be leaving "Soccer AM" after 11 years. Following his departure from "Soccer AM", Lovejoy joined BBC Radio Five Live as Wednesday night host of its football phone-in show "6-0-6". In 2008, Tim launched an internet TV channel called Channelbee with 19 Entertainment.

Tim has also branched into more literary spheres, publishing a book 'Lovejoy on Football'. Unfortunately, it received some scathing reviews. Specialist football magazine 'When Saturday Comes' was particularly harsh - calling the book 'harsh', 'vile' and 'witless'. Indeed, Tim himself is referred to as a 'star*****' and accused of having a 'startlingly small mind'. [ [http://www.wsc.co.uk/content/view/145/29] ]
