Riverside Park, Jedburgh

Riverside Park, Jedburgh

Riverside Park, Jedburgh is the home of Jedforest Rugby Football Club and is situated just to the north of the town boundary on Edinburgh Road.

It has been the home of Jed-Forest RFC for the majority of the club's existence (the very first few matches were played at Lothian Park. It has one all seater stand underneath which are the changing rooms, an extension which houses the gym and a small ramshackle stand (the away stand) opposite.

It is often considered one of the most scenic pitches in rugby union due to its location at the foot of convert|100|ft|m|sing=on high scaurs (cliffs) and next to the Jed Water. This location has proved troublesome though as in 1984 the pitch was flooded as well as the Main Stand. Abnormally high rainfall caused the Jed to burst its banks sweeping away at least two cars, fortunately nobody was injured.

Across the "bouncy fit brig" at Woodend is a training pitch which is also used by Jed 2nd XV and along the old railway track to the north is another, less used pitch at New Mill.
