Tom Shaner

Tom Shaner is a critically acclaimed songwriter and performer based in New York City. He writes and plays cinematic ghost songs, city songs, folkadelic waltzes and rock and roll. He performs often, especially in New York City.

He records for Mother West Records.

After 3 highly praised CDs and several national tours as lead singer for Industrial Tepee, he has been recording and performing under his own name.

Early friendships with late friend Jeff Buckley and long time close friend Danielle Howle have been important.

He has also written songs for plays by Brecht and others as well as having written and optioned a screenplay/musical with a very rootsy edge (digthefilm.com). He also is known to perform and write for a multi media performance group called "Company of Strangers" in Vermont where they combine songs, video, puppets and perform haunted yet slightly humorous shows outdoors at night on an old farm.
