The song was later covered by R&B/Pop diva Whitney Houston and became a hit on its own right as the second single from the soundtrack for the 1996 film, "The Preacher's Wife". Annie Lennox provided backing vocals for Houston's version, which reached #15 on Billboard's Hot 100 Singles Chart in the US and #7 in the United World Chart. The song showed very strong chart performance across the world, reaching Top 20 in more than 45 countries. It was certified Gold.
