Hannah Higgins (born 1964) is an American
writer andacademic living inChicago ,Illinois . She is the daughter of theFluxus artist s,Dick Higgins andAlison Knowles .She is the author of one of the most important histories of the
Fluxus movement, "Fluxus Experience", published in 2002 by theUniversity of California Press.The Grid Book , her interdisciplinary history of this defining form in Western culture, will be published byMIT Press in early 2009. WithDouglas Kahn , she is co-editing an anthology ofcomputer art (1960-1970) calledMainframe Experimentalism for theUniversity of California Press .Higgins is an associate professor in the department of art history at the
University of Illinois at Chicago . She received herB.A. in 1988 fromOberlin College , her M.A. fromUniversity of Chicago in 1990, and graduated with herPh.D. in 1994 from the University of Chicago. Her twin sister,Jessica Higgins is aNew York based intermedia artist; both performed and collaborated as a youth in original Fluxus related events.External links
