"Put The Light On" was the second single from Wet Wet Wet's fourth studio album, "High on the Happy Side". It was released on October 21, 1991.

The line "put the light on" doesn't actually appear in the song. It's adapted from "put a little light in her darkest day / put a little love in her heart on the way".
