Stefan Fatsis

Stefan Fatsis (born 1963) is a a regular guest on National Public Radio's "All Things Considered" daily radio news program and former staff reporter for "The Wall Street Journal".

Fatsis is of Greek ancestry; his father was born on the island of Chios. He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 1985 with a degree in American Civilization. He was a staff writer for the Daily Pennsylvanian as an undergraduate and is the author of "Wild and Outside: How a Renegade Minor League Revived the Spirit of Baseball in America's Heartland" and "", about the subculture of tournament Scrabble. Fatsis is also the author of the book "A Few Seconds of Panic: A 5-Foot-8, 170-Pound, 43-Year-Old Sportswriter Plays in the NFL", released on July 3, 2008. This latest work discusses his experiences practicing with the Denver Broncos during the team's 2006 training camp. His writing also appears in "The Best Creative Nonfiction Vol. 2".

He lived in Brooklyn, New York, and as of 2006 lives in Washington, D.C. with his wife, Melissa Block, and their daughter, Chloe Fatsis.
