Rita Ackermann

Rita Ackermann (born 1968 in Hungary) is a Hungarian-American artist.

Career

Having trained at the University of Fine Arts Budapest from 1989 until 1992, Ackermann moved from to New York in 1991. From 1992 until 1993 she trained at the The New York Studio School of Painting, Drawing and Sculpture (Hanes Foundation). She has been featured in numerous museum exhibitions in the United States, Japan and Europe. Ackermann is represented by Andrea Rosen Gallery. She lives and works in New York City with her husband. Her work includes paintings, drawings, T-shirts, a line of underwear, and skateboard design. Ackermann gained attention in 1994 with paintings resembling large sketchbook pages of nymphetish girls in underwear.Fact|date=September 2008
