Diego De Ascentis (born 31 July 1976) is an Italian football (soccer) midfielder, who is currently a free agent.

Career

He started his career at Como (1993–96) and moved to A.S. Bari (1996–1999) and A.C. Milan (1999–2000).

He have been staying in Turin since 2000 until 2007 except spent 2005/06 season at Livorno, due to bankruptcy of A.C. Torino. He also signed for Genoa in July 2005 be joined Livorno after the relegation of Genoa.

He signed a three years contract with Atalanta in summer 2007[citation needed] and was released in summer 2009.

On 8 October 2009 after the releasing from him in July, Atalanta B.C. have re-signed the midfielder on a free transfer until the end of the season.[1][2]

International career

At international level, he capped for U-21s and Olympics team (which won the 1997 Mediterranean Games).
