The United States Senate Committee on Veterans' Affairs is responsible for dealing with oversight of United States veterans issues.

The Committee is chaired by Democrat Daniel Akaka of Hawaii. The Ranking Minority Member seat is Republican Richard Burr of North Carolina.

2007 Walter Reed Hospital oversight issue

This senate committee came under scrutiny when its oversight role over Walter Reed Army Hospital was questioned following discoveries of negligent maintenance of certain facilities. The scrutiny escalated as individual members such as Barack Obama have become questioned on their individual negligence in overseeing this veterans' hospital.
