"Lifted" is a pop song written by British duo Lighthouse Family, for their debut album "Ocean Drive" (1996). The song was produced by Mike Peden. It was released as the lead single on May 1995 and reached the top 70 in the United Kingdom.

It was later re-released on February 1996 and reached the top 10 in the United Kingdom.

In 1999, "Lifted" was again re-released but with a different single cover.

In 2001, "Lifted" was chosen as the song for the Labour Party's 2001 UK General Election campaign.

Chart performance

When the Lighthouse Family originally released "Lifted", it only reached to #61 in the UK Singles Chart. However, they decided to re-release it as they didn't want a "good song" not to do well in the Singles Chart. After heavy promotion, it reached to #4 and stayed in the UK singles Chart for 10 weeks.

"Lifted" also reached the Austria Singles Chart and peaked at #36. The single also reached #85 in the Dutch Singles Chart.

"Lifted" had also done well throughout Europe, where it reached to #15 in the Eurochart Top 100.
