Simcoe County Road 27

History

Simcoe Road 27 is formerly Ontario Highway 27. After the Highway 400 extensions northeast of Barrie were completed in the 1980s, the section of Highway 27 north of Waverly was re-designated as an extension of Highway 93. In 1998, the road was downgraded to a county road. The section north of Waverley was made a part of Highway 93. The portion between Simcoe County Road 90 (former Former Highway 90) and Simcoe County Road 30 was once Highway 131. The road stretches from the York Region/Simcoe Region boundary (Highway 9) to Penetanguishene, Ontario.
