Sleeper x

SleeperX is a four-piece experimental metal band from Perth, Western Australia.

Originally formed in late 2001 by:

*Vocalist James "Sleeper X" Crossglans
*Guitarist No-Wade! "Sleeper X" Taylor

The SleeperX lineup was solidified in June 2002 by:

*Chris "Sleeper X" Buttbutler (drums)

and long-time collaborator and geriatric 'entertainer'

*Darth "Sleeper X" Adams (bass, Previously of False Teeth Acceptable Dinner Plans Inc).

To date the band have released:

*"Everything You Know Is Wrong" EP (2004),
*"Music For The Esteemed Gentleman" EP (2005)
*"Migrations And Mnemonics" (2006) split EP with Melbourne-based jazzcore act Errata,

Having supported the Dillinger Escape Plan in 2004, the band signed to local Perth label Cartel Music in May of that year and travelled to Melbourne for the V5 Festival. The band parted ways with the label in March 2006, forming their own label, On The Blob Records , later changed to Panty Liner Records, then Red Guard Records. The "Migrations and Mnemonics" split EP, recorded in Taylor's studio "The Great Brain" and mastered at Errata's House of Fuboobadore in Melbourne, is the first release for the fledgling label.

Though active in the Australian metal scene, the band's penchant for noise-making, irreverent live performances (including the practice of Freemasonic rituals onstage) and unconventional instrumentation has earned them a reputation for innovation and spontaneity within avant-garde musical circles.

Additionally, lead singer, James Crossglans, is renowned in the local scene for the noticeable erections he gets on stage.

The band is currently in pre-production for its debut full length album, "The Long March"
