The "Journal of the Society for American Music" (JSAM) is the official scholarly publishing vehicle of the Society for American Music (SAM). JSAM is a peer-reviewed academic journal published by Cambridge University Press and edited by Professor Ellie Hisama (Columbia University, NY).

This journal is the continuation of "American Music", which was published from 1983. The first issue under the changed title appeared in spring 2007.
