launch date=November 4 ,2006 WikiDumper.org is a website created by
Clifford A. Pickover that promises to permanently record a snapshot of the "best of theWikipedia rejects", articles that are slated for deletion at the site. WikiDumper was launched onNovember 4 ,2006 , and accepts user submissions. Although the site doesn't specify its criteria for inclusion, many of its articles don't cite their sources. The site has been criticized as likely to be less accurate than Wikipedia. It states its mission, "From the bold to the beautiful, from the wicked to the wise, every day the Wikipedia team relegates possibly "inappropriate" submissions to the garbage dump of time. Here, we make selected rejects immortal and preserve them for posterity."
There are many reasons why Wikipedia entries are marked for deletion. Among them are that the subject matter is autobiographical, is a neologism, or worst of all is non-notable. Articles saved by the WikiDumper include those titled: The
Jewish Magazine , LisaNova,Kiwi! ,Women in physics ,Love rectangle , and TheWorld Carrot Museum .References
