Rony Oren

Rony Oren (1953- ) is an Israeli animator and claymator. Considered to be one of the leading and most senior animators in Israel. Creator of TV series for children, books for children and TV advertisements that combine figures made of Plasticine.

Biography

Rony has been working as a professional in the animation branch since 1975. In 1978 he established his independent studio through which he created above 500 short films, and won many different prizes and medals and in different festivals and advertising competitions.

Roni Oren is living in Binyamina.

Among the TV shows he produced:
* Foxy Fables
* Tales of a Wise King
* The Egg
* Grabbit the Rabbit

Oren's animation series were broadcasted, as of this date, in the above 80 countries and were bought amongst others by the Disney Channel, ABC, PBS, BBC, and Channel 4.

Oren produced over 25 books for children in Israel, Britain and the United States. Rony Oren illustrated "The animated Haggadah", that was published almost 21 years ago and sold more than 100,000 copies all over the world. Amongst the TV advertisements Oren produced is the commercial for "Bezeq Binleomi" which featured a talking parrot and the commercial for "TeneNoga" which featured a bunch of talking cows.

Oren produced over 86 short films for "Rechov Sumsum" (the Israeli version of "Sesame Street").

Oren won the Nahum Gutman prize for illustration.

Between the years 1980 - 2002 Oren taught animation at different art schools in Israel - Beit Tzvi, Vitzo Haifa Academy of Design and Education, Bezalel Academy of Art and Design. Oren also led art classes at different animation festivals.

Since 2000 Oren is the head of the animation department at Bezalel Academy of Art and Design. and since 2006 as a Professor.
