Fukuno, Toyama

Fukuno (福野町; -machi) was a town located in Higashitonami District, Toyama, Japan.

On November 1, 2004, Fukuno joined 7 other villages and towns to create the city of Nanto, Toyama.

As of 2003, the town has an estimated population of 14,526 and a density of 458.09 persons per km². The total area is 31.71 km².

Culture and Local Festivals

Once a year, the YOTAKA festival is held in Fukuno. People visit from many surrounding cities and other prefectures.

A music festival called "SUKIYAKI MEETS THE WORLD" is held in August every year. A lot of artists take part in it from all over the world. During the festival, a steel drum is played by beating the drum with a stick. People often dance to the music.
