Aston Fields Middle School

Aston Fields Middle School

Aston Fields Middle School is a middle school in Bromsgrove, Worcestershire. The school's catchment area encompasses Bromsgrove and its surrounding villages. There are currently 610 pupils on roll in the 9-13 age range. Its motto is "Striving for excellence". The head teacher of the school is Julia Adams, who took over from Barry Dinsdale, and the deputy head teacher is Stephen Carter. The majority of Aston Fields students go on to study at nearby South Bromsgrove High School.

The school is officially a non-denominational institution, though Christian hymns are sung in school assemblies and Christmas is celebrated.

In the 1990s the school experienced a bomb scare when a pupil brought an unexploded World War II anti-tank shell to class for a history project. The student's Grandfather had used the shell as a doorstop for 50 years and the on the morning of the scare it had been kicked around the playground! Pupils and staff were evacuated to South Bromsgrove High School and bomb disposal experts were brought into the school to deal with the matter.Fact|date=August 2007
