Richey Reneberg (born
October 5 ,1965 in Phoenix,Arizona ) was an American professional maletennis player.He attended
Southern Methodist University , where he was a three-time All-American and reached the 1986NCAA finals.He was the ATP Newcomer of the Year when he turned professional in
1987 .He and his partner
Jim Grabb were ranked number 1 in doubles and won the1992 U.S. Open doubles title. His highest career singles ranking in theATP Tour was number 20. He won a second doubles Grand Slam withJared Palmer at the1995 Australian Open .The right-hander represented the
United States at the1996 Summer Olympics inAtlanta, Georgia , where he was defeated as the number 11 seed in the first round byIndia 'sLeander Paes . He also played on the AmericanDavis Cup team.Grand Slam men's doubles finals (2)
