Canadensis is located in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania in the northeastern part of the state. It is home to a few small restaurants, convenience stores, and gift shops. There is one traffic light where the two major roads intersect, this point is known to locals as the "Crossroads" and is where most, if not all businesses in Canadensis are located (Junction of Pennsylvania Route 447 and 390). The town gets its name from the Latin word meaning "hemlock".

Tourism

Canadensis is the "heart" of the Poconos. The town is home to a number of bed & breakfast's as well as a very small skiing resort just a short drive away happily named Alpine Mountain(situated between Canadensis and the Stroudsburg area). The area is more for the outdoor enthusiasts, mostly during the summer, but also during the winter when skiing is available. In the summer Canadnesis serves as a home to many sleepaway campers from the tri-state area at Camp Canadensis [http://www.canadensis.com/] .There are no actual tourism sites within the village.Canadensis has few restaurants and small businesses which function to serve the local economy rather than attract tourists.
