Pomeranian Evangelical Church

The Pomeranian Evangelical Church (abbr. "PEK") is a Protestant church in the German state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, serving the citizens living in Hither Pomerania. It combines Lutheran and Reformed traditions. The seat of the bishop is the city of Greifswald.

It is a full member of the Evangelical Church in Germany (EKD), and is based on the teachings brought forward by Martin Luther and others during the Reformation. The church is also a member of the Community of Protestant Churches in Europe. Leading bishop is Dr. Hans-Jürgen Abromeit (2006).
Ordination of women and blessing of same-sex unions are allowed. The principal church is Greifswald Cathedral.
