"Visual Audio Sensory Theater" is the debut album by the band VAST. It was released on April 28, 1998. The album mixed samples of Benedictine monks of the Abbey of Saint-Maur and Le Mystère Des Voix Bulgares, with an 18-piece orchestra, guitars and electronics.

In 2005, an audio commentary of the record (spoken by Jon Crosby) was made available to VAST Fan Club members.

Additionally, a "Q & A" audio commentary of the record was made available to VAST Fan Club members in January of 2007, akin to the "Music for People" audio commentary released in December of 2006.

The first single released from the album was "Pretty When You Cry". The second, "Touched", was featured in the Angel soundtrack, "" and the companion CD to the Everworld book series, titled "The Everworld Experience".

Other album tracks featured in various media include "Flames", which was used in the German movie "Sommersturm", and "Here", which has been used in two episodes of "Angel".

VAST music has been used in several other productions, including "The 7 Fingers" [Les sept doigt de la main] acrobatic performance - "Traces".
