Fine Arts Programs

Nease has become well-known for it's impressive theater program in recent years. Nease has staged productions such as You Can't Take it With You, Evita, and Blood Wedding by Fredrico Garcia Lorca. At District Festival 2007, Troupe 4641 claimed an impressive six Critic's Choice Awards and two of four State Playwright selections along with double-digit Superior and Excellent ratings respectively. Every year for the past four, Nease has won an Ensemble Acting Critic's Choice. Districts 2007 became the first time in recent memory that an individual has "swept" [won the Critic's Choice for all of their events] . The International Thespian Society at Nease is fully functional and includes six officer positions along with an active and diverse troupe.

Each year, the theater program produces two main-stage productions: one musical and one full-length play. Additionally, a one-act is taken to District Festival, later to be showcased at the school's Night of Stars and an IB Comprehensive Theater III/IV is produced during the school year.

Assistant Principal Fred Cole is in charge of overseeing the development of the Fine Arts programs. For the 2007-2008 school year, Mr. Randall Adkison was hired to replace longtime director and International Thespian Sponsor, Kirstie Gabaldon. His service to Nease precedes his employment, as he has been the Technical Director of his wife Laura's Miss Nease Scholarship Pageant for five years.

The Panther Pride Marching Band participates in numerous competitions each year. It is agreed by many that the band usually does well at most of them.

Nease Choir is directed by Mrs. Laura Adkison. Various Excellent and Superior ratings are won by them each year.
