Triggerfish Twist

Triggerfish Twist

"Triggerfish Twist" is the fourth book in Tim Dorsey's as-yet unnamed series of books which were centered on Serge A. Storms. It was published in 2002.

The book takes place in the summer of 1997, somewhere in the midst of the events of "Florida Roadkill". "Triggerfish Twist" may be considered more of a "parallel work" than a sequel or prequel. As an excerpt from [http://www.timdorsey.com Dorsey's website] states::Warning from the publisher:When Tim Dorsey sat down to write his first novel, "Florida Roadkill", he didn't know what he was doing. He killed off way too many people. Now he needs them.:So take a warped trip back in time as Dorsey reunites the living and the soon to be very dead in "Triggerfish Twist.".

Jim Davenport, a midwesterner who is non-confrontational to an extreme degree, is transferred to his company's branch in Tampa, Florida. He is excited about the move, largely due to a misprint in a magazine that recommended the city as one of the top ten places to live in the country. His family moves into a house on Triggerfish Lane in a cozy subdivision. But the job quickly proves to be disappointing. Jim's neighbors are a strange bunch of eccentrics. Crime is much worse than he had thought. Life in central Florida is not what he expected.

And then a house down the street is rented by Serge Storms, Sharon Rhodes and Coleman. Serge seems pleasant enough, but there is definitely something odd about him. Sharon is a spiteful coke-headed hooker. Coleman is a brain-dead stoner who is constantly under the influence of "something", from alcohol to illegal drugs.

Life for Jim Davenport gets much more surreal from that point onward. Soon, this once-reasonable man is stretched to the breaking point by some very unreasonable circumstances.
