Frederick Burkhardt

Frederick Burkhardt

Professor Frederick Burkhardt (13 September 1913 - 23 September 2007) [http://www.darwinproject.ac.uk/content/view/122/1/] was for many years the President Emeritus of the American Council of Learned Socities (ACLS). His decades of work on The Correspondence of Charles Darwin constituted a signal example of dedication to a demanding and ambitious scholarly enterprise. He was an Honorary Fellow of Clare Hall, Cambridge University.
