SMK Damansara Jaya

Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Damansara Jaya (SMKDJ), also known as Damansara Jaya Secondary School situated in Damansara Jaya, Petaling Jaya, Selangor, Malaysia.

It has over 1750 students in Forms One through Five.

Achievements

The Debate team has won nine national inter-school debating titles in the last nine years. These tournaments include national Tan Sri Datuk Wira Abdul Rahman Arshad Cup (2001 and 2003), Taylor’s College Annual Inter-School Debate competition (2000, 2002, 2005, 2006) and HELP University College’s Tan Sri Paduka Dr Saleha Debate Cup (2004, 2006 and 2008).

The cheerleading team (The Dynamitez) won the national Cheer Malaysia competition in 2005 and 2007, finished second in 2003, 2004, 2006 and 2008, and came in third in 2001.

In competitive Scrabble, SMKDJ students won national and international tournaments. Notable victories include finishing National Under-15 champions in 2001 and National Under-18 champions in 2003.

Encik Abu Sujak Haji Mohammad Noor (01/01/1983 hingga 31/03/1983)

* Has served as assistant pricipal in Sekolah Menengah Abdul Jalil (Hulu Langat) * Sekolah Menengah Damansara Jaya’s first pioneer * Created the school badge, school flag and the school mascot"'2nd Principal"'

Encik Rosley Ariffin (01/04/1983 hingga 31/12/1983)

* Started serving on 1st April 1983 * Has worked in Sekolah Menengah Ulu Kelang

3rd Principal

Tuan Haji Ahmad bin Mansor (01/01/1984 hingga 31/12/1983)

* Started work on 1st Jnuary 1984 * Became an assistant principal in Sekolah Menengah Selayang Baru

4th Principal

Encik Kevin De Souza (01/01/1986 hingga 31/12/1987)

* Started serving in this school on 1st January 1986 * Launched the Class Association Project. It was necessary for every class to have a class monitor, assistant class monitor and committee members which consist of a class monitor, assistant class monitor, class discipline committee, class cleanness committee, and a class curriculum committee * On 31st March 1987, he was transferred to Sekolah Menengah Keramat

5th Principal

Tuan Haji Mohammad Yusof bin haji Mohammad (01/04/1987 hingga 31/04/1988)

* Started serving on 1st April 1987 * He enlarged the library and an art room was set up in August 1987 * Construction works on Block C was started

6th Principal

Tuan Haji Wan Mohamed Haji Abdullah(01/02/1988 hingga 31/07/1991)

* Has served in the Selangor Education Ministry as Assistant Principal Director * Raised the achievements in academic and non academic * Sekolah Menengah Damansara Jaya was declared Country’s School of Hope on 8th June 1990

7th Principal

Tuan Haji Bekri Salikin (01/08/1991 hingga 31/02/1991)

* Started serving in this school on 1st November 1991 * Was transferred to another school 15th February 1992"'8th Principal"'

Tuan Haji Kusno Haji Ahmad Sabilan (01/04/1992 hingga 31/12/1994)

* Started serving on 16th April 1992 * Built a pond to beautify the school

9th Principal

Datin Hajah Hamidah bt. Nordin (01/02/1995 hingga 31/12/2003)

* Started serving since 1 February 1995 * First lady Principal of this school

10th Principal

Pn. Lee Mei Leng (01/01/2004 hingga 31/12/2006)

* Started since 21 April 2004 * Has improved the cleanlines and physical appreance of the school canteen * Tiled up the strategic pathways in the canteen, office, and the new computer lab * Renovations and extended the Bilik Gerakan * Created a decorative room for students within the Bilik Gerakan * Covered all the internal drains in the canteen due to safety reasons * Started the SMK Damansara Jaya Sdn. Bhd. Coperation * Fine tuned the concept of school in the garden by reviving the Eight Gardens in the school * Introduced the use of school diaries among students and teachers * To encourage further enhancement of the school indentity and acquirement if soft laid via the Merit- Demerit system * Defined the qualities of a true excellent Dj-ian * Improved the service of the school office * Introduced the Boimetric system of checking in and out staff * Created the Computer Room for teachers and a Record Room for students * Has initiated the school expansion programme by preparing the working paper for RMIC9 * Has approved the blocks of 3 storey buildings costing RM 4 million to be built in 2007 to replace Blocks D, E and Bengkel K.H.
