Frank Carideo

Frank F. Carideo (August 4, 1908 in Mount Vernon, New York – March 17, 1992 in Ocean Springs, Mississippi) was an American football quarterback, as well as a college football head coach. He was considered so good, that even legendary football coach Knute Rockne said he was the best quarterback ever.Fact|date=February 2007 In 1929-1930, Notre Dame went 19-0, with him as the starter. He was the star player on Knute Rockne's best ever team. He had a tendency to make big plays all throughout his career.Fact|date=February 2007

He was also an assistant coach at Purdue in 1931, at Mississippi State from 1936 to 1938, and at Iowa from 1939 to 1949. From 1932 to 1934, he served as the head football coach at Missouri, where he compiled a 2-23-2 record. He is a member of the College Football Hall of Fame
