Radio Sport is a
New Zealand sports radio station which broadcasts a variety of sports. It has live commentary rights to mostcricket matches,rugby union games, someNational Rugby League (NRL) games and New Zealandtennis tournaments. Its current On-Air slogan is 'The Ultimate Fan'.Programming
Sports talkback has been the main focus of the station, along with sports commentaries since it began in 1998. There is no opt outs, apart from ads, with the entire country taking the same programming. Among the sports that Radio Sport covers with regular commentaries are
cricket , domestic and internationalRugby Union , domestic basketball, domestic and internationalnetball , andRugby league .Radio Sport also provides a sports-based news service, produced in house, and updated at regular intervals.

Radio Sport's programming is lead by its breakfast programme. Until July 17 2008 the programme was presented by
ONE News sports presenterTony Veitch , Veitch resigned from his roles with Radio Sport and ONE News after allegations that Veitch assaulted his girlfriend in 2006. Veitch confessed on July 8 2008 that such allegations were true, at a press conference and resigned on July 17. The vacancy was filled in-house by drive-time presenter D'arcy Waldegravewith formerAustralian netball representativeKathryn Harby-Williams as his co-host. Other presenters include long-standing sports anchor Brendan Telfer,Murray Deaker , former Tongan rugby representative Willie Lose, yachting commentatorPeter Montgomery , former New Zealand test cricker John Morrison and media personalityPhil Gifford .References
