Air Accident Investigation Unit

The Air Accident Investigation Unit (AAIU) (Irish: "An tAonad um Imscrúdú Aerthionóiscí") is part of the Department of Transport of the Republic of Ireland, and is responsible for the investigation of aircraft accidents and serious incidents within Ireland and in some cases to Irish registered aircraft elsewhere.

The Air Accident Investigation Unit is located at 44 Kildare St, Dublin 2, and has a permanent staff of eight personnel.
