Bustos Media L.L.C. was founded in July 2003 by Amador Bustos and his brother John Bustos, with investments from Providence Equity, Providence, R.I.; Alta Communications, Boston; and Opportunity Capital, Fremont, Calif [http://www.bizjournals.com/milwaukee/stories/2006/02/20/story7.html] . The brothers were raised in Redwood City, California and attended local schools. Their parents were immigrants from the city of Aguililla, Michoacan Mexico. Amador Bustos was listed, by Hispanic Business Magazine, as one of the most Influential US Hispanics of 2005 [http://www.hispanicbusiness.com/influentials/details.asp?id=845&year=2005] for his success in business and for his growth/influence in the Hispanic radio media. In 2006 Amador was also named by PODER, an imprtant Mexican financial magazine, as one of the 100 most influential Mexicans living abroad alongside such luminaries as Selma Hayek.

In 1992, Amador and his youngest brother, John, with $3 million dollars in private equity investment from Syndicated Communications (SYNCOM) launched Z-Spanish Radio Network, Inc. which over a period of eight years acquired 32 radio stations [http://www.hispanicbusiness.com/news/newsbyid.asp?id=19463] . In 2000, Z-Spanish sold the chain to Entravision Communications at a total valuation of $475 million dollars [http://www.prospermag.com/go/prosper/The_Magazine/may_2006/bustos_media_ceo_amador_bustos/index.cfm] .

In May 2006, Bustos Media gained approval from the Federal Communications Commission and will launch a Spanish-Language television station in Milwaukee with programming from Azteca America [http://www.hispanictips.com/2006/05/15/bustos-media-plans-spanish-tv/] . At the start of 2007, Bustos Media had 25 radio stations across the U.S. and it also ventured into the television arena.

John was born and raised in Redwood City, California. He attended local schools and excelled in high school soccer; which earned him a scholarship to play for the University of San Francisco team under the belloved coach Steve Negoesco, who coached four championship men's soccer teams.
