- The Nepenthaceae of the Netherlands Indies
The Nepenthaceae of the Netherlands Indies is a seminal
monograph on theNepenthaceae by Dutch botanistB. H. Danser originally published in the "Bulletin de Jardin de Botanique " in 1928.Danser recognised 65 species, including 17 new taxa. All were described in great detail, many accompanied by line drawings. He divided the
genus "Nepenthes " into sixclades , based on observations of herbarium material. The clades were: the "Vulgatae", "Montanae", "Nobiles", "Regiae", "Insignes" and "Urceolatae".Danser's classification was undoubtedly a great improvement on previous attempts, and forms the basis of more recent monographs, such as those of Charles Clarke (1997, 2001) and
Matthew Jebb &Martin Cheek (1997).The Nepenthaceae of the Netherlands Indies was reprinted by
Natural History Publications (Borneo) in 2006. (ISBN 983-812-115-0)References
