Rover 416i

Rover 416i

The Rover 416i was a model designation used for various cars marketed by the Rover company.

As part of the collaboration between Honda and Rover's then parent company, British Leyland, the 416i was a compact car built by Honda of Japan from 1985 to 1989 for the Australian market. It was a rebadged Honda Integra five-door hatchback (Honda only sold the three-door in Australia).

The 416i was originally available only as a single model, but higher SE & Vitesse specification was later added.

In the 1990s Rover produced a number of Honda Concerto and Civic-based models for its home (United Kingdom) and export markets. These formed the Rover 200 and 400 series, with the 416i badge used in the latter range.

The Vitesse is the luxurious model of the Rover 416i. It has features such as electric windows, Cruise control, climate control and leather seats. The 1988-1990 model produced Convert|96|kW|hp|0|abbr=on out of a 1.6 litre engine and throughout its production run the Rover 416i was front wheel drive.
