LocusSupplementaryData =Chemokine (C-C motif) ligand 27 (CCL27) is a small
cytokine belonging to the CCchemokine family also known under the names IL-11 R-alpha-locus chemokine (ILC), Skinkine, ESkine and Cutaneous T-cell-attracting chemokine (CTACK). It is associated with homing of memoryT lymphocyte s to theskin , and plays a role in T cell-mediatedinflammation of the skin. [Morales et al. CTACK, a skin-associated chemokine that preferentially attracts skin-homing memory T cells. Proc. Natl. Acad. Sci. U.S.A. 96:14470-14475, 1999.] [Homey et al. CCL27-CCR10 interactions regulate T cell-mediated skin inflammation. Nature Med. 8: 157-165, 2002.] CCL27 is expressed in numerous tissues, includinggonad s,thymus ,placenta andskin . It elicits itschemotactic effects by binding to the chemokine receptor CCR10. [Homey et al. The orphan chemokine receptor G protein-coupled receptor-2 (GPR-2, CCR10) binds the skin-associated chemokine CCL27 (CTACK/ALP/ILC). J. Immunol. 164:3465-3470, 2000.] The gene for CCL27 is located on humanchromosome 9 . [Ishikawa-Mochizuki et al. Molecular cloning of a novel CC chemokine, interleukin-11 receptor alpha-locus chemokine (ILC), which is located on chromosome 9p13 and a potential homologue of a CC chemokine encoded by molluscum contagiosum virus. FEBS Lett. 460:544-548, 1999.]References
