Soul-Sides.com is a mp3 blog written and curated by Oliver Wang. Oliver Wang is a music journalist, sociology professor and DJ. He has been writing on pop music, culture, and politics since 1994 on publications including NPR, Vibe, Wax Poetics, Oakland Tribune, Village Voice, SF Bay Guardian, URB, LA Weekly, Scratch and Minneapolis City Pages. He also has edited and co-authored the book Classic Material: The Hip-Hop Album Guide with Peter Shapiro and David Toop among others. Founded in 2001, it was initially only a reviews site, and progressively introduced mp3 archives featuring soul, funk, jazz, Latin, hip-hop and other groove-related music. Wang has also made two compilations for Zealous Records: Soul Sides Volume One and Soul Sides Volume Two. Oliver also runs Poplicks with Junichi Semitsu.

USA Today, Reuters, Le Monde, Morning News, Daily Camera, Rolling Stone, Newsweek and The Guardian among others have featured articles about Soul Sides.[citation needed]
