Oleksandr Iakovenko (born July 23, 1987 in Kiev) is a Ukrainian football midfielder. He is currently on loan from K.R.C. Genk to R.S.C. Anderlecht [ [http://www.krcgenk.be/en/nieuws/article?params=91fffd05aa0f18095f838aa18806d74c1201859048 Article on KRC Genk Official Website] ] . He has also played for Lokomotiv Kiev, FC Metalist Kharkiv, and SK Lierse in the past. His name is sometimes transliterated as Alexander Yakovenko. In the January Transfer window for the 2007-2008 season, he was loaned out to Anderlecht and made immediate impact as constantly being a starter as well as scoring goals in league and UEFA Cup matches. They then signed him to a four year contract.
