Disney Special Editions

Disney Special Editions is a line of DVD and Blu-ray Disc releases, which are the United Kingdom equivalents to the Platinum and Diamond Editions released in the United States. The UK Special Editions line also includes Disney films not issued as Platinum and Diamond Editions, but still released in the US in named "special edition" packages (e.g. Robin Hood: Most Wanted Edition and Dumbo: Big Top Edition). However, the catalogue of UK Special Editions contains many more titles than the American Platinum Edition line, and does not have a determined annual release schedule.

List of Disney Special Editions

Disney Vault DVDs

Disney have selected 12 movies for a place in their vault.[1] DVD releases of these in the UK were released as "Special Editions", but largely followed the special features and schedule of the US "Platinum Editions". From 2007, UK releases were also branded as "Platinum Editions", and in 2008 the company also started releasing the "Platinum" range on Blu-Ray. The 2009 release of Snow White was released as a "Diamond Edition" on Blu-Ray only, with the accompanying DVD release branded nothing more than a "2-Disc Edition", a move which mirrored the US release.
