Next single = "Get Born Again" was one of the last two songs that Alice in Chains recorded with Layne Staley. The other being its 'brother' song "Died", written for their 1999 release "". It features a murky, heavy grunge sound. The song was originally written by Cantrell for his solo debut, "Boggy Depot", however, he showed the song to Layne, and Layne wrote the lyrics, and recorded it with Alice in Chains in 1998. The Song was nominated for Best Hard Rock Performance in 2001.Also note Staley's condition while recording the song was made known by "Dirt" producer Dave Jerden - who was originally chosen by the band for the production - who said "Staley weighed eighty pounds ... and was white as a ghost."
