The Top One Percent Society (TOPS) is a high IQ society, at the 99th percentile of intelligence, dedicated to the intellectual stimulation and growth of its members. To this effect a journal (Termite) to which any member can submit letters, essays, poems or art, has been set in place. It was founded in July 1989 by Ronald K. Hoeflin, Ph.D.

Membership qualification

Membership requires minimum qualifying scores in a variety of tests. Dr. Hoeflin is the Membership Officer of the society. Former or inactive members of TOPS are eligible to enter the e-mail discussion list immediately upon proof of membership. Membership seems to be limited to U.S. citizens, as TOPS only accepts payments through U.S. banks and post offices. [http://www.toponesociety.com/membership.html]
