Suriname competed at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, Greece.

=Athletics=

At age 39, Vriesde was the oldest woman competing the 800 metres by a full two years, but the 2001 World Championships bronze medalist still managed to make the semifinal. Sibe ran the slowest 800 metres of the Olympics on the men's side.

Women's 800 metres:
