"Bliss" is a 1985 Australian film directed by Ray Lawrence, adapted from the novel by Peter Carey, which stars Barry Otto and Lynette Curran.

Plot Summary

Harry Joy, an advertisement executive, goes through a near-death experience during a heart attack. Upon awakening, he finds himself either in a hellish version of the world he knew, or with his eyes opened to an altogether different view of that world: His wife is unfaithful, his daughter buys hard drugs from his evil son, and his latest client is a carcinogenic polluter. He tries to steer a morally correct path, abandoning most of the trappings of his previous well-to-do life, to the dismay and disruption of everyone around him. Fighting for his sanity, he meets a young country girl who is selling herself to bring money back to her forest commune.
